Relationships or transactions? We have a choice. We’re in love with data, it’s supposed to solve all our problems. The only issue is that some things, like real relationships are hard to measure. The quants and finance guys don’t like that. So we dance, we dance to connect and to measure that connection, but it’s difficult to measure the depth of connection and where big value is created. Those are relationships that defy measurement.
Give and don’t ask. As our friend Seth says, be generous.
It’s harder to measure, but creates far greater value.
