It’s a familiar story. The latest shiny object comes trundling down the highway, be it the latest piece of tech from Silicon Valley, or the latest superhero movie from Hollywood, or the latest bacon-themed bistro from Brooklyn…. And everybody predictably acts like it’s the second coming, but within three weeks everybody’s already moved on and wondering what all the fuss what about, while the next shiny objects already starts grabbing the headlines.
Turns out it isn’t the shiny objects that make us happy in the long run, but the normal, everyday stuff. A good night’s sleep. The first cup of coffee in the morning. Flying a kite in the park with the kids. A nice glass of whiskey in front of a warm fire.
Something to keep in mind, when planning out your life.
