What good leaders do for their organization. They hold themselves accountable, and everyone else, too.
It’s all about setting the right example, even when it’s not easy to do. Especially when it’s not easy. That’s when they need you most.
Excellence has become just another word. It gets thrown around too often and lost its meaning.
So Hugh redefined it for the University of Miami into something we can live.
What does excellence actually mean? Hint: it’s not about how good you are or what you’ve accomplished.
It’s about inspiring other people to greatness.
Now that’s a definition we can really get behind.

Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon.com, once said, “You don’t choose your passions; your passions choose you.”
I tend to agree. Passion isn’t something you seek out; passion is something that happens to you whether you like it or not.
The trick is staying open to the possibility.
People always underestimate what they can do in ten years and overestimate what they can do in a week.
A funny quirk of human nature. Keeps things interesting, I suppose.
