“Love” is one of those words that people don’t like using much around the office, especially when one is talking about one’s colleagues.
But…without what the Ancient Greeks called “Agape” (Brotherly/Sisterly love, divine love, non-romantic love etc.), building a business, or doing anything worthwhile with colleagues, is impossible.
Though Valentine’s Day is traditionally a time for “Eros” (Greek for romantic/sexual love etc.), here at gapingvoid, we think Valentine’s Day is a perfect occasion to express “Agape” to one’s colleagues.
Nothing meaningful gets done without Agape. It is the glue that holds us all together.
Awkward is a Valentine’s Day office party.
Valentine’s Day is all about showing your love and appreciation. But the office isn’t an emotional place.
So for you leaders, you lovers of your coworkers – we created some special tools for you to show that you really care.
Without feeling icky.
Happy Valentine’s Day (a few days early).
This was a line from a drawing I originally created for Bill Gates (Yes, *that* Bill Gates).
I was thinking about how much passion it would’ve taken to build a company as large as Microsoft, in such a short time. It would have been frankly impossible without it.
But try doing anything worthwhile without it…
If gapingvoid stands for anything, it stands for bringing more love, in the most meaningful sense of the word, to the workplace. And it’s not a bad way to spend Valentine’s Day, either.
