This is how a team effort pretty much works in a large organIzation.
It’s not just about solving the problem at hand, it’s also about first dealing with the complexity, silos and bureaucracy parts of any large company…
That’s the “challenge part”.
The thing is, if you grind away at the challenge part for long enough, eventually the dam bursts and you have yourself a big ol’ breakthrough and the next thing you know, you’re on top of the world.
The “breakthrough” is the fun part, of course, even if it never lasts for very long. Victory never does.
The point is, one needs to understand that it works differently in large companies than small ones, and one needs to adjust one’s M.O. accordingly. And that, once you do, you have access to opportunities that you simply would not have elsewhere.
Like everything else, it’s a trade-off.
