“People are our most important asset”.
We’ve all heard it before.
The funny part of that idea is not that it’s true, but JUST. HOW. TRUE. IT. IS.
The hardest part of any business is the people part. And yet to merely state it as fact, is to sound like you’re just stating the obvious, just making a platitude.
But it’s not a platitude. It’s utterly essential, it’s utterly mission critical.
It’s something we need to embed in everything we do.
Sadly, it’s often relegated to other platitudinous efforts like diversity, leadership and learning.
Nice ideas often executed without any soul, without any drive.
If we really believe that “People are our most important asset“, we need to fanatical devotion to executing this every day.
