Wow. Are you reading my mind? In a non-geeky, non-marketing sort of way I have been thinking A LOT about concept this lately, because the concept is actually not a concept at all, but a very real thing that happens when people start to treat your blog like a personals ad. I even had to change my commenter’s identity. I could not agree more. Questions I have asked myself are a) does software give users an excuse to act differently than they would in meatspace? b) isn’t software just a means to an end? etc;
In the same vein: from a tagline spotted at Groklaw(*):
“It’s not the software that’s free; it’s you.”

well … the cartoon is nice … but it is not what the card seller does but what the possible streetcard buyer says … it is not what the website shall do, but about what it does in the mind of the user … you wanna know what it does in my mind?
