Loic Le Meur and I are throwing a geek dinner on a week today on Monday, the 30th of July, at 6pm in San Francisco.
We’re still deciding on a venue: Loic’s looking into it as we speak.
Loic has just moved to SF, and I’m in town for a week. If you’re around and fancy coming, please go sign up on the Facebook page.
Hope to see you there!
[Update:] Some really cool people are coming. Gabe Rivera, Mike Arrington, Robert Scoble, Deb Schultz, Oren Michels, Jeff Clavier etc. I’m so happy!
[Update:] So far 60 people have confirmed they’re coming. Wow. Not as many as the 200 or so who turned up for Scoble’s London geek dinner 2 years ago, but still pretty huge.
dear hugh
two words
GRAYWATER GUERRILLAS
since yer comin’ to the Bay Area there are some geeks here you ought to talk to about yer recent flood…
Interesting that you have moved from the open wiki format for your group dinner planning to a proprietory Facebook page. Won’t be in SF so I couldn’t go, but as someone not on Facebook is there a particular reason you have moved to them, Hugh.
Hey Thomas, I hear what you’re saying.
As somebody who has organized PLENTY of parties via wikis, I assure you, they have their foibles, too.
Everything is a comprosmise. Especially in Design.
It just struck that you did one and now the other. Since I am not on Facebook, I’d have to register to even see the style differences. I kind of have gotten social networking site burn out lately, so I was just curious what it did easier or better for you than the old format.
While I mentioned the open vs closed, I think it’s the style differences I was more interested in.
No big deal.
