Heh. Robert Scoble has a Blue Monster sticker on his laptop. This pic was taken while he was waiting in line to get his new iPhone, so I’m told.
The sticker was given to him by Steve Clayton. Shel Israel got one, too. Steve tells me they were quite a hot commodity when he got them made, and his supply ran out very soon.
Robert’s never mentioned The Blue Monster on his blog, as far as I’m aware. Not in any great detail, at least. Do I find that surprising? Not really. I can totally see how he’d much rather write more about his new job at PodTech, rather than about his old job at Microsoft. But I was delighted to see him joining the Facebook “Friends of Blue Monster” group.
I also notice the two Jaiku stickers. Very cool. “Social Object, Baby!”
Is there a way to get one of these stickers? I really love it, but I’m not a Microsoft employee 🙂
Sebastian, probably the best thing to do is to e-mail Steve. He’s “Master of The Schwag”.
My Blue Monster is on the wall over my workdesk. I have an ultralight computer and not enough room for the stickers I get. Besides, I’ve never been a fan of the NASCAR look. I do think that Blue Monster is brilliant and multiple levels. It allows Microsoft to show it has a sense of humor which in itself reinforces it’s new image by poking fun at its old image. Because you drew it, it is immediately cool in the global social media community and third, it has made Steve Clayton a new and enjoyable representative of a company that needs more of the new and enjoyable.
I should write about it.
Did you notice the sticker is right on top of the Google “Go Code” one?
Ahh, marketing.
