“My body is a temple” sounds like something the hippie-vegetarian-yoga crowd imported from the East.
Actually, the phrase originates from the New Testament, Corinthians 6:19.
We all want to be healthy, we make sure to follow all the latest fads, we juice, eat low carb, of course, go gluten-free, and tell everyone how vegan-ish we are. But what is this really all about.
Over the last twenty years there has been a shift in consciousness. We now know that many of our most dire health problems are self-inflicted. We know that we need to work on our physical and mental health. We’ve learned that our brains are impacted by activity and that to a great extent, we are really in control of our physical well being.
Call it being mindful, call it living a healthy lifestyle, what it means is that healthy behaviors can vastly extend your life, and make your years more enjoyable.
It’s mindset, it’s a way of living.
In the old days, we didn’t have the science. Now we do, so there isn’t much of an excuse.
