Yesterday Laura and I arrived at the Dallas Entrepreneur Center, to hang the “Do Something That Matters” show for next week. Though we have over 80 pieces in the show (it’s a fairly large space, I’m happy to report), here are just a couple of photos just to give you a taste.
DEC is an awesome space, Lots of natural light, and lots of cool businesses. We’ll be running talks, cocktail events, etc. all week. The interesting thing is that most of the people attending those are from big companies. It’s always fascinating to see how the start-up vibe provides inspiration for the big guys (and of course, vice versa… two very different worlds, informing the other).
It’s not like an art gallery, with people standing around, sipping wine, awkwardly making small talk.
No, people are too busy working to do that. The effect is far more engaging, overall.
Anyway, it’s going to be a big week, thanks to our partners at Speakeasy. I hope to see you there.
PS: Special thanks to Mike Orren of Speakeasy, who made this whole event possible.
