There’s a pit in your stomach and you’re lying on your side and it’s hard to breathe and you realize there’s no turning back. You’re committed to seeing it through. You’re in love with the idea and the ideal.
We make decisions based on emotion and facts. Sometimes it’s love, fear or passion. Sometimes it’s an opportunity you saw — something you know you can do better, make better, offer an alternate reality. You hope if you will it, it will come to pass. We make decisions not knowing (or conveniently forgetting) that everything takes at least twenty times longer than we anticipated and there’s no such thing as enough money and the risk sometimes seems way bigger than the reward.
We take risks because we love the feeling of chance and sometimes it seems like no one gets excited about anything anymore and it’s so hard to find something that really seems to matter.
We take risks because when there’s something to lose everything seems more real and when was the last time you felt so analog?
We take risks because we live for the fear that comes with doing something huge and maybe it will pay off and ultimately this is a big test where you show yourself what you’re capable of.
We are so afraid and we are so in love with what could be.
