When you’re young, the thought of mediocrity is terrifying. Imagine- an endless road of “Meh”.
And even if it’s just “Meh”, you’re still going to have to work your tail off to get it. Not to mention, death and taxes and all that stuff…
It was this terror of “Meh” that spurred me forward in those early days, as much as anything else. It’s not that I wanted a big house or a fancy car or famous friends per se, it’s just I didn’t want to spend my life feeling “Meh” -only half alive, only half in the game.
So far, so good…
