Sure, this cartoon has a counter-intuitive side to it- people often do the “I’m just being honest” thing in order to justify expressing their contempt.
That being said, honest feedback at work is pretty rare. Few people are willing to risk offending a person unless they REALLY care about them.
And colleagues who really care about each other are equally rare. Most colleagues are in marriages of conveniences, that terminate the minute both parties leave the office.
Hopefully, you’re not in that work situation. Hopefully your colleagues mean a lot more to you than that.
And if that is the true, hold on to them for dear life. Those situations don’t come around too often.
