Another one to file under “Everything you thought was right is wrong”:
Apparently, “Experience Doesn’t Predict a New Hire’s Success”.
That’s great that you have all those degrees and years in the industry under your belt, but if everyone hates your guts and doesn’t want to work with you, you’re out of luck.
What matters far more is being a decent human, an ability to relate to others, being truly empathetic… having a reasonably high EQ.
You’d much rather hire a newbie who fits in and is driven to learn new stuff, than a cranky veteran who supposedly knows everything but isn’t interested in growing.
As always, none of this is rocket science, it’s just common sense…
