The final ink layer is about half done, which by my reckoning makes the whole thing about 75% completed. Quite pleased with it, so far. Quite excited to have it finally finished, one of these days…
The last 25% of a large drawing is always the hardest. You’re so anxious to get it over and done with, the temptation to take “shortcuts” gets harder and harder to resist. Starting a big painting is easy. Finishing one is a nightmare.
Wow. You were inspired. Have you been dong many large canvases?
Saw your tweet as i was heading outside to paint.
I’m very intrigued by your India ink layer. I’d love to hear about the inspiration and significance of the characters. It’s funny, I painted murals so many years that I have difficulty with small canvas. Love the size you’re using and monochromatic very serene. Where do you show your work?
Thank you for sharing your gift, fellow artist,,

I love the clarity and beauty of your work.
Very moving.
Hey I like this, little islands of chaos, it’s like the real essence of individualism, taken as a whole it is somewhat homogenized. It’s hard to avoid derivation, ain’t it a bitch.

Все просто и понятно…что ничего не ясно.
Seems quite big. I suppose it’s also nice when you’re watching it live (I never had the actual talent/understanding for art). I must say I admire your patience and effort to work at it. Let us know when it’s finished…
Nice work if you can get it, having the problem of being able to sell more than you can paint. That’s where I’d like to be someday.
Peace.
Looks cool Hugh. I look forward to continuing to watch you progress. I may even dust off my canvas as I have been meaning to do so for awhile and watching you do it might make me set aside some time to be creative with some paints.
