The more successful you become, the easier it gets to continue being successful. Like the old joke says, “How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice!”
For someone just starting out, this can seem so unfair. But there’s no substitute for experience, and thank God for that, or old farts like me would be in real trouble.
So my advice to young people is: get up in the morning every day and try to create more value for people than you created the day before.
Focus just on that, and if you care enough, eventually you’ll get there, while the rock star wannabes fall by the wayside.
Godspeed!
