The fact that we exist at all is pretty amazing. It’s a crazy universe out there.
And yet we forget that far too often. We forget to be amazed.
This is because we’re too busy running around doing the normal stuff- dropping kids off at school, keeping up with the Joneses, mowing the lawn, making sales calls, making small talk at cocktail parties,… I mean Zoom.
That’s no bad thing, either. Life has lots of moving parts. Lots of balls to juggle.
The trick, of course, is to find a happy medium. No, you don’t need to drop out, flee to India and go live in an ashram with a guru.
Nor do you need to be a pleasure-seeking, materialist obsessive like the characters in American Psycho.
What you do need, however, is gratitude.
The first step in understanding the universe is understanding that it doesn’t have to be here.
Sorry is the last sentence unfinished – what doesn’t have to be here? Things to be grateful? I’m sorry i find the article, last paragraph in particular is not fully thought out. The rest of the article was enticing but i would have liked more! Kind regards, Fiona Kiely
