Every country has their version of Memorial Day. The idea is that we honor those who came before us. We see leaders who are driven by hubris and narcissism often forget about who came before.
It is true in politics. It is true in business. Honoring our past is part of what makes us human, we are nothing without our memories - it is a big part of what gives our lives meaning.
