People in the media are always talking about “The Culture War”, as relations between the different factions- Democrat and Republican, left and right, conservative and liberal- become more fractious.
Meh. Last time we checked, people were far more interested in boring stuff like paying their bills and how their kids are doing in school.
Most people aren’t marching on Washington, they’re going to church and then IHOP for Sunday brunch.
The real culture war is being fought much closer to home, in organizations like yours: deciding on what to make or do, what the priorities need to be, based on what matters and who matters, one customer, patient or client at a time.
That’s where REAL culture is made- up close and in the spaces between people.
