Sure, people like their autonomy, they like not being micromanaged, they like being left alone to get on with their work.
However, for all that independent spirit, they also like being part of something larger… in terms of meaning, and in terms of the system.
That’s because we’re primates. We’ve evolved to be hyper-social creatures. We like forming groups, we like forming hierarchies, we like choosing leaders, we like leading or being led.
In other words, however great your idea may be, if it requires human nature changing somehow, the idea is wrong.
Human lives may change, human nature doesn’t. In a world of constant changes, it’s the one certainly you can count on.
