Is serious business fun?
Working for a company that’s changing the world (or at least, the part of the world that interests you the most) is fun.
Working for a company that looks fun (foosball tables, bean bag chairs, cutsie job titles etc) but burns through working capital, making a product that nobody wants or solved anybody’s real problem…
Well, it may be fun for a few months, before the smart money starts figuring out what the real game is. But then capital dries up, and the rats start running for the lifeboats.
The famous 1950s comedian, Jack Benny, once said, “Comedy is serious business.”
But is serious business fun? When it’s working, on some level, of course it is.
