Numinous, as in, having a strong religious or spiritual quality. Touched by a divine presence, as it were.
People find God all the time on top of a mountain, or on a pilgrimage to Chartres Cathedral or Lourdes.
Good stuff. Though wouldn’t it be easier and more practical if one could find the numinous is the everyday moment, the everyday object. Like, while eating eggs and bacon at your favorite diner, or say, sitting in McSorely’s Pub on East 11th Street, drinking a beer.
Or, dare I say it, at work, in a meeting.
God is everywhere. So you might as well start finding him in weird places; the weirder, the better.
