Mark Manson writes about passion.
He writes about our expectations: that because we love doing something, we will always love doing that thing, every day for the rest of our lives.
We will, of course, love doing all of the garbage things that are a part of our passion. Because that’s part of the process. Right?
That is obviously not right.
We’re not on the path to achieving ultimate happiness!! every single day, because that can’t happen, and it won’t. What we want is to feel fulfilled.
Even when (especially when) you have your dream job, there are going to be days or weeks that what you’re living looks nothing like what you’re chasing. But that’s a part of the ride.
The deeper we get into pursuing our goals, the more we understand what it takes to get to that final stop, that’s when we have to take care of the details.
