There’s a great line in Charles Schultz’s Peanuts, when Linus says: “there’s no heavier burden than a great potential”.
Why is potential a burden? Because it matters.
We have to do something with what we have, with what we care about.
And when something matters — that’s when there are consequences. That’s when we care about losing or winning.
We can only accomplish something when we feel strongly — and there’s no feeling strongly without feeling fear.
Fear means we’re on the right track. Because we’re feeling something.
