We are hardwired for hope. We have an infinite need for it.
This is both good and bad.
The downside is snake oil salesmen and sleazy politicians. “There’s a sucker born every minute”, as PT Barnum famously quipped.
The good news is, it is also hope that gets us out of bed in the morning, imagining new worlds to conquer, new possibilities to embrace.
Welcome to the human condition, it’s complicated.
But if you can give hope to those whom surround you, you can have a huge impact on their lives.
