The word “intrapreneur” was coined in 1978. The American Heritage Dictionary defines it as : “A person within a large corporation who takes direct responsibility for turning an idea into a profitable finished product through assertive risk-taking and innovation”.
i.e. Somebody in a large organization who acts like an entrepreneur, somebody who gets things done on their own initiative, without always waiting for permission.
The thing is, in a world that increasingly rewards innovation (and increasingly punishes the lack thereof), it’s going to be harder and less sustainable to run your business log-term without them.
So… Find them. Keep them. Treasure them.
