[UPDATE- about 3 minutes later: Sorry, the twelve emails arrived quickly. Wow. No more galleys to give away, for now. Sorry.]
I’ve got twelve galley copies of my upcoming book, “Ignore Everybody”, to give away. Here’s the deal:
1. You have to have been active on Twitter for at least three months.
2. You have to have been following me on Twitter for at least one month.
3. You need to send me an email with the word, “Galley” in the subject header. In your email I need your your name, your shipping address, and your Twitter ID.
4. The email you send needs to be, in some way, interesting, amusing, or both.
5. I’ll mail a galley to the first twelve folk whose email fits this criteria.
6. Thanks for everything!
[UPDATE @:] Even though I closed down the competition after 3 minutes, I still got about 100 e-mails after from people, trying their luck. Rock on.
Hmm that was a bit fast! I’m really looking forward to having a printed copy of this stuff – great work Hugh!
@rosshill
I was so busy ignoring everyone I missed this one.
shux.
Hey – your Twitter link has a “3” in it!
and nuts 🙁
@mmmarce
My tweet last night on this had to do with #4 on your list. It wasn’t surprising to me at all that you would have 12 requests in 3 minutes; it was quite an offer, and you have a lot of fans. What I had a hard time envisioning was that many people being successful at being “interesting, amusing, or both,” given what I perceive as your relatively high standards for what qualifies.
The reply I got back felt a bit like being poked with a pointy stick. Lots of hard-learned reasons for such I’m sure… but just wanted to leave a note to encourage you to not forget kindness on your way up.
Best of luck and success to you in the meantime.
Great cover. Where’s the link to pre-order?
You are accepting pre-orders aren’t you??
Damn Hugh, that is one hell of a baby picture. I hope you are happy/proud with the product of your effort. Never heard of a galley copy before. Thanks for including “us” in the process.
Ever forward,
Michael
what is galley and how we can use it in business cards ?
Gutted! 🙂
Good luck with it though, next time you can give away 12000 or something!
I am so looking forward to reading it Hugh!
Best,
Raj
Awwwwwwwwwww
can’t wait to get them .
There are 18 there, so, you have another six to give out 🙂
grumble grumble, what’s a galley anyway… grumble
are you going to share a list of winners… and the funniest comments?
I want to buy your book. I’m going to give you money.
More than happy to pay retail for this, Hugh. Looking forward to seeing you at SXSW next month.
