It’s been quite a day. Here’s my sponsor’s summary of the event. And here’s Lockhart Steele piping in.
I’m exhausted. Off to Miami tomorrow. See you soon…
[UPDATE:] During the keynote I made a big mention about “Social Objects”, an idea I was turned onto by the anthropologist, Jyri Engestrom. Here’s a video and a slideshow presentation he gave on the subject, last June in London.
[UPDATE:] Thanks to Andy Roberts for also turning me on to Soviet “Activity Theory”. Phew. Heady stuff. But interesting.
The highlight of Connect SF! Being from Microsoft country in Seattle, I loved the Blue Monster cartoon. Shows you what you can do with great marketing. By the way, your “ensemble” from the Gap would fit right in as business style dress in the Seattle area. I know the guy who asked you where you bought your clothes could never be from Seattle.
rock on dude….and look, no fleece! 🙂
enjoy Miami…head down to News Cafe and chill
The speech was kick-ass. The stodgy real estate industry didn’t know what hit them!
“Microsoft is my bitch now,” MacLeod joked to Connect attendees.
OMG – did you really say that! I about fell over laughing when i read that.
You are obviously bright, and have accumulated some knowledge. So why be so coarse when address groups. Calling Microsoft your “bitch” is sophmoric and demeans your ,otherwise, formidable abilities.
Find a mentor, or reflect before your speak. You will destroy all you built , by mouthing off.
media man
Yes, BL, I said that. It was in reference to the fact that the “stormhoek.com” URL is discreetly embedded in the Blue Monster image.
It was well received, to say the least.
You are sooo missing the point mr media man.
Absolutely Dynamic – possibly the first Keynote speach that was “life 2.0”
Slightly coarse language might just be part of Hugh’s formidable abilities. Got a lot of people thinking, I guess, be it for the good or the bad. But running around a lot of minds I don’t doubt. I never have felt Hugh said anything without thinking about it. Don’t forget, you’re talking to Sucessman’s younger brother, you know.
C’mon Hugh, post your Succesman cartoon, will you?
We met at Inman Real estates connect. Your were the highlight for me. Trying to soak up all the gray matter information left me feeling like…… You were a breath of fresh air 🙂 keep it up.
Outstanding speech. I can only hope that it gets posted on InmanTV soon so that those who didn’t have the privilege of being in attendance will be able to see what they missed.
Highlight of any Inman conference I’ve been too – Bra-Freakin-O!
has a video surfaced of your keynote yet for those of us that weren’t able to attend? i’d love to hear what you had to say!
Hugh – your speech was worth of a few million cases of wine. And dammit, now I am going to have to sign all my business cards:
