Love the “yes, but” guy! You composed this cartoon perfectly, with the powerful all-caps truth in the sky dwarfing the whiny little voice of resistance. đ

I just went to a relationships workshop for my next column. The idea there was that polarity was absolutely necessary (masculine and feminine energies). Resistance is what makes us learn. Well, those who recognize that resistance is there for a lesson, and not an obstacle.

Didn’t Machiavelli make much the same point:
“There is nothing more difficult to carry out, nor more doubtful of success, nor more dangerous to handle, than to initiate a new order of things. For the reformer has enemies in all who profit by the old order, and only lukewarm defenders in all who profit by the new order.
