Eight years ago, the artist Shepard Fairey designed the famously controversial Obama “Hope” poster that went viral. One of the best pieces of pro bono advertising ever made, as far as I’m concerned.
Fast Forward to 2016 and man, what a sorry lot of candidates we have, this time around.
“What? Is this all you got? Seriously???!!!!” Of course, we all say that every four years.
To paraphrase Mark Twain, the fact that someone wants to run for office should immediately disqualify them from running for office […and he was not the first to think this. Google the Roman Consul, Cincinnatus if you don’t believe me].
So when smart, reasonable people suddenly start taking leave of their senses, every time an equally smart and reasonable person disagrees with them on who would make a finer President, it’s a reason to get worried.
Our President is only as good as our reasons for choosing him (or her), so choose your reasons carefully.
