Hiring, firing, pay, benefits, ethics etc. All that dry, day to day stuff you don’t read about in the history books.
Though we at gapingvoid contend that if HR is aligned in a deep and meaningful way with the actual mission of the company (assuming the company actually has mission worth believing in, of course), their job will be a lot easier and exciting for all concerned.
It’s too easy to be a bureaucrat in these large HR department. It’s too easy to let the machine devour you.
But is that what the large HR department actually needs these days? More and more, I sincerely doubt it.
