There’s a wonderful Chinese word, “De”, which loosely means “Virtue” or “Integrity”.
Of course, it means SO MUCH MORE than that. “De” is a very complex idea.
I once heard “De” explained to me as having complete harmony between one’s thoughts, words and deeds. Having no disconnect between what we think, what we say, what we do, etc.
I see this cartoon as an illustration of the “De” of business. A complete harmony between what we’d like from the world and what we give to the world in return.
No disconnect. No double standards.
Something worthy to aim for, at the very least…
