Generation C
“The chance that Gen C will find you through traditional channels grows fainter every day. But that’s not as ominous as it sounds. Opportunity is abundant.” (p. 35)
Saying “they’re always online” misses the point. While they’re living, and experiencing, they’re also sharing, researching, and reviewing. They are constantly connected, and constantly publicly documenting their experiences—through photos, reviews, and social media channels.
You can’t ignore them. So how are you planning to play with them?
Generation C is creating a body of content, entirely from their own experiences. No one asked them to do it. No one seems able to stop them. Even if they can’t vote and they don’t show up on traditional income-based demographic surveys, they have built their own voice. As a business, give them the right media to appropriate—images to share, content to discover, experiences to record and comment on.
Generation C is not an audience, it’s a documentary film maker.
