twenty years on [life is too short mk ii]

A week ago today it occurred to me, that date, the 15th November marked the twenty-year anniversary of me starting my first “real job” out of college i.e. as a junior copywriter for Leo Burnett, the big ad agency in Chicago.
It’s been a hell of a trip since then. Glad I ended up where I did; though damn, I wish it hadn’t taken me so frickin’ long.
Every day that I’m alive, the cartoon above gets truer and truer and truer…

As I contemplate my next move (as a copywriter and aspiring work-at-home freelancer/blogger), I am printing this piece off and posting it over my desk… because I can’t afford the print.. just yet.

Even doing nothing in meditation is enough. Imagine if Bush had meditated instead of starting two wars that got us nothing but bad shit.

My next step too! As an ex direct marketing creative having stepped out on my own and working from home I am hoping to make some incisive comment in my work now after years paying the mortgage off now is the time. Nice one Hugh great site!
