My first trip to Rudy’s was inspired by a conversation on a plane flight into Austin. So I found my luggage, my rental car, and Rudy’s. The latter is part of the Diamond Shamrock gas station. while puzzling over what to order the guy behind the counter asked if I’d been there before. Upon hearing my “no” he yelled to everyone in the joint, “We have a virgin here”. When in Texas I return when I can. Great BBQ. Also one in Albuquerque, but it is not part of a Diamond Shamrock.
