a love letter to god, part two
In December, 2008, I posted the preceding statment on my blog.Dear God, I just want to say ‘Thanks’ for this brief life you have given me. I tried to do something meaningful with it. I really did. Thank You.
Since then, I’ve been pondering what I exactly I meant by it. What exactly did I mean by “meaningful”?
When we say “Meaning”, what are we actually talking about?
I have a few thoughts on the subject.

And that is pretty much the core question of existentialism. Excellent! Though I suppose God might disagree with existentialism…
My life is a constant search for meaning. Can’t wait to see where you take this…
OoooooH, major project about meaning… but what does it mean?
“We can discover this meaning in life in three different ways: (1) by creating a work or doing a deed; (2) by experiencing a something or encountering someone; and (3) by the attitude we take toward unavoidable suffering.” – Viktor Frankl, “Man’s Search for Meaning” That sums it up for me – creating, experiencing, helping others.
What does it mean to live a meaningful life? (As taken from Vincent Newfields article) It means to live a life FULL of meaning- one that is full of significance, importance and worth. (Simple enough, right?)
He goes on to discuss how a soul finds meaning in staying connected with God. Life then becomes an adventure and takes on more meaning… By impacting the lives of others, one enjoys a sense of satisfaction, accomplishment and contentment that can be found no other way.
So then it becomes about finding your own unique way of impacting others in need. And by all means enjoying the process along the way.
