“desertmanhattan”: progress report

I star­ted adding the acry­lic last week. If you click on the top pic­ture, you’ll see I’ve just start appl­ying the India Ink, towards the top. That was yes­ter­day. If you click on the link above, I made a little 2-minute pho­ne­cam video explai­ning everything in grea­ter detail.
This thing is going to take fore­ver to finish. I’m not worried, there’s no rush etc.

    I drove through Alpine yes­ter­day on my way out of Marfa. Beau­ti­ful out there. Seems like a place that offers plenty of both time and ins­pi­ra­tion. A great place to focus your energies.

    Love it! Hugh, please con­si­der NOT re-touching the smudge(s). I thought the sha­ding offe­red great depth to the piece. And maybe also only ink in some of the pen­cil lines as the dif­fe­rent media really makes it artis­ti­cally enga­ging. Con­si­der con­si­der con­si­der.
    The fact that you’ve moved to large can­vas subs­trate vs. busi­ness card stock would call for a look at making these more pain­terly in the end. n’cest pas? non?
