I’ve recently star­ted using the Goo­gle Rea­der quite avidly. My sha­red items are here. Please add me to your friend list so I can see what you’re rea­ding, too. Rock on.

   I’d love to, but it’s not exactly easy to use. It says I need to add you in to goo­gle talk, howe­ver I can’t see any of my exis­ting goo­gle talk peo­ple, so I have no idea how to get them on.….

   I do find GR ama­zing. I think that it is a great way to share track and sort thru infor­ma­tion.
   I just subsc­ri­bed to your sha­red items as we are not Goo­gle friends and I think that you will not want ever­yone to be your friend as it would be hard to manage. Still the subsc­ribe option works great to push out your sha­red stuff to non friends.

   @Nic: No idea what you’re fin­ding dif­fi­cult.
   If you use GChat on your gmail page, then just click on, erm, “Add Con­tact” and type in Hugh’s email address (which you’ll find on the front page of the blog).
   In the GTalk desk­top client, click on the “Add+” but­ton and type in Hugh’s email address (which you’ll find on the front page of the blog).
   Once Hugh has con­fir­med to Goo­gle that he is actually your best bosom buddy, you’ll find posts that Hugh thinks that *we* will find inte­res­ting lis­ted in GRea­der under “Friends’ Sha­red Items” towards the top of the page.
   If you’re not seeing *any* con­tacts lis­ted in GTalk/GChat, then either none of your con­tacts have gmail/googlemail addres­ses, or they’re all offline.
   Or, erm, you ain’t got none.

   OK, I think I know what the pro­blem is: I dont have a gmail account.
   I have a Goo­gle Appli­ca­tions With Hos­ted Domains account (nicw at fastchicken.work.out.the.rest.). Both my wife and I share stuff via goo­gle rea­der, howe­ver I can’t see her, and she can’t see me.
   I guess it requi­res you to be @gmail.com for it to work

   Hugh,
   I follo­wed a link to your blog while loo­king for blogs on mar­ke­ting and busi­ness. I like the obser­va­tions on life that are mixed in with the busi­ness talk. The car­toons are nice bonus.
