    In my case, I can say that without sar­casm or bit­ter­ness that this is true and it’s a won­der­ful thing. An ideal is not an illusion.

    I totally agree with Michael. After con­sul­ting a the­ra­pist to try and save a fai­ling marriage, I did gain a cou­ple of nug­gets of wis­dom:
    1. You marry into a RELATIONSHIP — you don’t marry each other.
    2. Every day, you make a choice to:
    (a) work on your marriage, or
    (b) work on your divorce.
    There is no middle ground.
    It’s really that simple.
