Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!
I have a customer facing role, so this cartoon resonates with me. I also haven’t always been the most well behaved customer myself.
I think a lot of the bad behavior we see in the corporate world is driven by mind-gripping fear. It doesn’t excuse it, but is helps me to reconcile it and helps me do a better job of accepting it and dealing with it.
I’ll never forget the beginning of one of the best, albeit difficult, customer engagements I’ve ever experienced. The customer executive sponsor, in one our first one-on-one meeting, looked over to me, straight in the eye, and said, “You are going to make this work, right?” I think that one sentence says it all.
It starts out all nice and then grabs you by the throat. Perfect.
I knew a Hughie in San Francisco; this was back in the Haight Ashbury days. This hughie was very intelligent, a little spacey, and meditative.I guess we were all”hippies” then. He carried a crow quill pen and a small pad of paper in his sport coat pocket. With these would scratch out these 4x5”incredibly intricate and detailed drawings of.….…..? I left to go back to Chicago, I supposed he stayed? This looks like his work and his name, Coincidence?.
I am *so* feeling this one!
Damn that made my day.
Now back to the frickin’ trees… sigh.
Excellent! I laughed so hard at this. I work in SEO, where it takes weeks to see the full results of your work.
