I’m pleased to announce that this “software” cartoon, which a lot of people seem to like, is now available as a blogcard. Rock on.

The best way to support gapingvoid is to sign up to "Hugh's Daily Frickin' Cartoon" Newsletter. A new cartoon sent out every weekday morning to your inbox [RSS version here.]. A wee chuckle to start your day off right etc.

    Brilliant news – Hugh. Ordering now.

  2. Wow. Are you reading my mind? In a non-geeky, non-marketing sort of way I have been thinking A LOT about concept this lately, because the concept is actually not a concept at all, but a very real thing that happens when people start to treat your blog like a personals ad. I even had to change my commenter’s identity. I could not agree more. Questions I have asked myself are a) does software give users an excuse to act differently than they would in meatspace? b) isn’t software just a means to an end? etc;

    In the same vein: from a tagline spotted at Groklaw(*):
    “It’s not the software that’s free; it’s you.”

    That and “businesses are not run by IT departments…” were irresistible.

    well … the cartoon is nice … but it is not what the card seller does but what the possible streetcard buyer says … it is not what the website shall do, but about what it does in the mind of the user … you wanna know what it does in my mind?
