I drew this cartoon for an internal presentation at Stormhoek. People liked it so much we’re now thinking of using it for one of the cartoon labels. Very cool.

The Wine of Golddiggers!
At first I (mis)read:
All men were created evil.
Either got to change my attitude — or my optician.
Perfect. NYC.
I personally find it offensive, but it is, after all, just a cartoon.
I just tire of seeing my gender depicted as being shallow.
This is odd. I liked it a lot as a cartoon, when the woman was just a grinning abstraction. When it turns out into the label on a commodity, and it looks as if the woman consuming the wine agrees with the slogan, I find it offensive.
I laughed out loud at the thought but would not purchase anything with that cartoon on the label since I don’t actually feel this way.
That one’s pretty much ass. I prefer the threats of violence against puppies one. Probably because I’m not a puppy.
what is especially interesting is not the micro message that each label carries (which also defines the type of wine buyer too) but the fact that the bottle already has attitude in deciding to go against conventional wine packaging by using hughs cartoons anyway. in fact these cartoons could be used to define wines and their buyers as much as any label description would.
If all men were created equal, how come they are not all Hugh clones?
OK, I love the cartoon and the tag … go for it. We chicks will dig it!
Reminds me of a remark that I read somewhere that stayed with me…echoing through the hollows of my twice divorced soul:
“I didn’t marry him for his money but it was the only way I could get my hands on it.”

All women simply create– usually a fuss about nothing– a mountain out of a mole hill, an row where there is peace, a headache, a back ache, leg ache, or just a pain in the bum.
If only women’s brains were equal in size to their mouths !!!
