skunk works

This is another old cartoon [2004] that I think would fit nicely into the Microsoft Blue Monster Series.
I was talking to somebody the other day from Microsoft, saying that the point of the cartoon series should not just be to articulate “The Selling Proposition” of Microsoft [The phrase, “Dancing around like a bunch of high school cheerleaders” came up more than once.].
I believe there are far more compelling conversations out there. What is software for? What is Microsoft for? Where does Microsoft fit within the entire ecosystem? How does Microsoft stay relevant long-term? Why does any of this matter in the first place? You tell me.
[First Rule of Marketing:] If you want to be interesting, don’t talk about yourself. Amen.

This cartoon more aptly describes Google.
    *dodges Ballmer’s chair*

  2. What can Microsoft do for me? Not that “people ready” corporate bollocks.
The fact is, Microsoft ruins my life. How can I ever recommend that to anyone? (note: I am not a developer developer developer)

Sometimes the best thing a company can do is to die quietly and put us out of its misery.
I’m sure that the buggy makers thought that the real problem was not Henry Ford, but the fact that people really didn’t understand how good the buggies were.
I don’t use Microsoft products because they just don’t match my requirements. No amount of spin, marketing, advertising, blogs or personal recommendation will ever change that. Changing the product might (but Vista was a wrong turn; a case of chrome over functionality; reminds me of the Edsel)
And no, I don’t use Linux either.

Hugh, how about another slogan for the blue monster series ? It may be offensive but this is the way I would like to see this company again sometime.

that’s pretty dark: Microsoft ruins your life? It’s a shame it’s all Microsoft’s fault.

This is interesting and i’m glad I can across your site.
I’ve got alot of loyal readers of my business card marketing blog who could use some of your creativity. We have lots of ideas on there, but none like yours…that’s for sure!
    I’ll be back.
