“mean”?

bluemonster334small.jpg

“Yeah, he looks kinda mean, but Microsoft needs its balls back.”
-Nathan Weinberg on the Blue Monster.

Also, for Bill Hilf, General Manager of Platform Strategy, Microsoft:

“Shared growth works.”

He was referring to the shared growth of both Microsoft and Open Source within the entire tech ecology etc.

The best way to support gapingvoid is to sign up to "Hugh's Daily Frickin' Cartoon" Newsletter. A new cartoon sent out every weekday morning to your inbox [RSS version here.]. A wee chuckle to start your day off right etc.

There’s many things MSFT might be said to lack. “Balls” has never been one of them

He looks fierce but that’s not a bad thing. Gets your a$$ off the bench.
No one gets inspired by the cookie monster (the other popular blue monster).

  5. Sarah says:

So can we have a nice cute girly pink monster to go with the big boistrous blue one… ;)
As we all know the pretty pink monster is the subversive one that manages to do all the interesting things with its own unique and innovative style… (and we can all see what the loud mouthed blue one is up to! ;) )

  6. Sarah says:

Oh and also when the blue monster gets jealous does it then go green? Hmmm maybe Google and Apple will have the green monster syndrome ;)

  7. A pink monster…great idea, Sarah. :)

  8. The software company trying to be hard?
Microsoft have changed the world. Now they need to focus on making it a better place by hiring a few qualified designers with a track record. Microsoft needs more humanity, not more monster.

  9. James says:

Mike, did you read the text/watch the video about what inspired the “Blue Monster” and the story behind it? It’s addressing exactly what you’re stating in the last sentence.
There’s a Blue Monster sidebar underneath Hugh’s information with a video by Steve Clayton that sums up “Blue Monster” that explains it a lot more.
    Cheers.
