Paul, if the entire section of any sort of staff at any company went on strike and wasn’t replaced, most businesses would founder. Got secretarial staff? Imagine what your life would be like if they all quit simultaneously.
Just because a group is essential for operations doesn’t mean they run the company.

Actually,

Might be more accurate, but it surely is not as concise…

This is one of your less interesting comics, which is funny because I’m commenting, but it really sounds like an idea by someone else. Not the disruptive Hugh way of thinking I’m used to. Safe, and self indulgent corporate thinking. The commodification of vital human resources.
I know of a tech company that thought they could rehire their way through business and the application they sell hasn’t changed in a year since their team quit for better pay. Competition is catching up, they’re forced to seek a round of financing.. what do you think happens next? They start calling the old employees. Brutal.
