So for an extra 7% off over a ten day period, they've massively increased the number of visitors to their stores for at least a few days, probably bumped up their profits, appeared on national TV news, raised their brand awareness, grabbed a bigger share of the holiday booze buying spree, and maybe they will shift enough boxes of stuff to increase their bulk discount negotiations with their suppliers. I'm sure there are plenty of other benefits. From a marketing pov, that's not bad at all, really. The third person today, the store guy said, following "tons of people" yesterday and Thursday. He also said they have loads of stock to meet the demand. Good to hear that from the trenches.
