It’s a marketing con! We went into Thresher with the coupon today to get some champagne that is £38 everywhere else.…Thresher are selling it for £54.99( even the assistant laughed when I pointed it out) so with discount it’s £33..not bad you may think however we got it from Tesco for £27.0.This is one of the old fashioned hype the message and jack up the price to protect their margin tricks.Dont be fooled.

Whaddyaknow, even the BBC have picked up on it (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/6198828.stm). The best thing is they've mentioned Stormhoek and linked to the site. Now, where's my nearest Threshers store...

And it's on this weeks Money Saving Tips from Martin Lewis. If you watch the video version, he says that he actually phoned Thresher to check out whether it was for real or not before he added it to the e-mail.

Stormhoek just made it onto the BBC 1 lunchtime news. They covered the story from a viral marketing angle and explained it all started on the blog of a South African wine company called Stormhoek.
