parmet is right, of course
Excellent point from Dave Parmet:
I was going to comment on this.
And then I read this.
And it occured to me that picking fights with, invoking the names of or kissing up to so-called A-listers as a means to generate blog traffic is sooooooo 2004.
The blogosphere has moved on, People. Deal with it.
[Meanwhile:] I wish Gabe would create a Techmeme widget like this Netscape one for my sidebar. That would be so cool. [UPDATE:] Gabe tells me there is a Techmeme widget here. It’s a bit wide for my liking, is there any way to make it slimmer? Thanks, Gabe! [UPDATE:] Gabe tells me that yes, in fact it does fit on the sidebar. Mea Culpa. Thanks again, Gabe!

That’s funny, I’m trying to generate blog traffic as we speak…
…no idea how though…
It’s all about the photos!
(sorry)
Cool widget Hugh… Many thanks!
Loaded the widget script to my blog (under Gaping Void of course!).
OK OK no more kissing up!
Just when I wanted to tell you how much I liked your blog and how marvelous your cartoons are.
Oh well… in that case.
Worst is even I can’t pick on you either.
Wait a sec!
Are you an A-Lister?
Excellent blog Hugh. You’ve given me much to think about. Cheers.
Hey Hugh: love your stuff, most notably your fine-tuned sense of irony. Is it cool if I link to you? (Are you supposed to ask before linking to people? It seems only polite.)
There are A-lister bloggers?! WTF?
Hi Hugh. I have a widget, though there’s no scrolling text. Just to top three headlines. See http://blog.memeorandum.com/051021/widgets
I hate it when bloggers I like and admire link to stuff without giving me enough context about if/why I should bother clicking on the link. If you can’t quote a snippet that will do that, then write a few words about what it is you’re linking to.
Thanks.
Are you kissing up to me? Or to Gabe?
Kinda got this You-Me-Gabe threesome going on, Parmet.
I’m sure our womenfolk will be dead impressed…
Hugh, it’ll shrink automatically to fit your sidebar. Example: http://danielabarbosa.blogspot.com/ (BTW, thanks Daniela!) What’s shown is just the maximum possible width.
blogs are dead media by 2009
