Can’t say I agree with this one Hugh, but a noble sentiment all the same. I’d go for ‘if in doubt, choose’, but I can’t make up my mind.

  2. Unfortunately, for many people it’s all too often a case of:
    If in love, doubt.

  3. Tasos Calantzis says:

Actually, I’d say this is perfect.

  4. Jane Greer says:

St. Augustine wrote, “Love, and do what you will. If you hold your peace, through love hold your peace. If you cry out, through love cry out. If you correct, through love correct. If you spare, through love spare. Let the root of love be within; of this root nothing can spring but what is good.“
Who knew the sublime St. A would some day be on a wine label??? :-) I’m pretty sure he’s raising a glass to you, Hugh.

  5. Dave! says:

I’d always heard, “If in doubt, throw it out.” Of course, that might have been for leftovers in the fridge…

  6. Erica George says:

Awesome. I have my own variation: If in doubt, trust. (Based on my decision at one point that I’d rather trust people and get burned occasionally than costantly be presuming the worst and living in fear. Not to trust blindly, but when sincerely in doubt, to give benefit of the doubt.)

    Hi Hugh!
I couldn’t agree more. Sometimes this truth is so simple that people believe it morally suspect.
I think about it in terms of basic choices we make in our life: do we choose fear or love?
I wrote about it in a post awhile back, after becoming a Mom for the first time and realizing that I could let my life be overrun by fear if I let it.

Thanks for a great label. I don’t drink, but you almost make me want to. :)

Thanks Hugh, thank you for having this on the widget and for lighting up my blog with it.
I guess you don’t have an exact measure (and sometimes I think we can have only a slight suspicion) of how things like this can connect with people and in how many levels. From the “aha” moment with a post about wine marketing to the “ahahaaa!” moment staring at some red lines on white.
Well, I no one understands me, I don’t blame you. I liked that damn ‘toon a little too much.

    So true. It’s sad, really.

  12. Rach Bam says:

I also discovered these cartoons by accident. And I love them. They are wonderful. Many of them are quite simple but gloriously entertaining. My favorie one is “Keep feeding me perfectly controlled explosions of joy and we’ll get along just fine“
    Blessed be,
    Rach
